School visits

We are delighted to welcome school groups back into the museum following the incident last year.

Our programme of interactive tours, creative workshops, resources, and projects support students and teachers to connect to and explore our collection, site, and [Redacted] together, through looking, making and discussion. There is still much for you to explore, a world of possibilities is around the corner, through that door on the right and along the corridor, follow the arrows.

  • Museum Sleuth

    Somethings amiss in the museum!

Can you help us find who took our prized object: The Cup of Corinthian?

Children will take part in an interactive tour though the ‘Loot’ gallery space to check out the scene of the crime and gather evidence before going backstage to watch back CCTV and try to piece together a timeline of events.

  • Exhibition Curator

Our curatorial department is understaffed. Can you help?

Children will have the opportunity to live as a curator for the day. Respond to our team’s emails, fill out tedious online forms and take meticulous measurements as if they were on the staff payroll.

Due to literacy requirements, this available only to key stage 2 and above.

  • The kids were so inspired by the Exhibition Curator experience! They really enjoyed the admin and writing all those emails for the museum curators while the team was on their long lunch.

  • Though the kids never solved the sleuth mystery, they still really enjoyed getting to go behind the scenes and aiding the police with their investigation.

  • What a fantastic day at the Wunderkammer! The kids were exhausted by the end of it - they slept on the way back like they'd been drugged! We'll be back again soon.
