Impossible Machines

Join us for Impossible Machines. A fascinating talk by Dr Weathers Reparte, who explores the rare and sometimes inconsequential machinations that were made corporeal by the hands of some of oddest inventors ever to not quite make it onto the map.

Explore the arduous working processes of the almost - successful flying machines created by Theodore Tolstoy-Starmer, who tragically lost his life in the alps while teaching an abseiling to a group of seniors. Children will love learning about the Super Rapid Death Tiger, a whimsical automaton created by Sarah South Chambers, cat-lover and bitter ex-wife of Dr Hartley Pool, famed Champion pool player and recipient of the feline in 1907. It is not known if his death by mauling is in anyway correlated to this gift.

Let Dr Reparte take you on a journey of automation, machination and celebration.

Tickets £760
