A punishment for rude dinner guests, the infamous Leech Pool at the notorious Tatton Hall was well-known among fans of corporeal punishment during its heyday in the early 18th century.

Join Ms Kitty Standards, curator at the Hall to explore the origins and remains that have been found during multi-day, treacherous missions to the depths of the pool. Ms Standards will take you through the biology of the Lacrinomius Leech, the scourge of those hapless guests who used the wrong fish knife while dining at Lady Constance Hallelujah Tatton’s table from 1704 - 67, and the subsequent fascinating finds discovered by her intrepid team of curatorial divers in the 20th century.
